Job Description:Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)/Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (cANP) Frailty-Ambulatory Emergency Care

Permanent Contract, Full Time Hours x 2 Posts

The ANP/cANP Frailty-Ambulatory Emergency Care will be professionally accountable to the Director of Nursing and clinically accountable to the supervising Consultant (Gerontology).

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead an ambulatory emergency care pathway for frail older people presenting to Emergency Department.
  • Undertake timely comprehensive geriatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Work closely with the MDT team members including fellow ANPs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, junior doctors, and consultants.
  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for professional practice as a lead healthcare professional.
  • Articulate safe boundaries and engage in timely referral and collaboration.
  • Conduct a comprehensive holistic health assessment using evidence-based frameworks.
  • Educate others using an advanced expert knowledge base.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Promote a culture of quality care.
  • Proactively seek feedback from persons receiving care, families, and staff.
  • Implement practice changes using negotiation and consensus building.
  • Contribute to service development through appropriate continuous education and research initiatives.
  • Provide support, advice, and direction to staff as required.
  • Engage with the wider healthcare team and facilitate team building.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Have a broad base of clinical experience relevant to the advanced field of practice.
  • Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability to properly discharge the functions of the role.
  • (cANP): Be eligible to undertake a Master's Degree in Nursing or a relevant Master's Degree.

Candidate ANP Salary Range €70,025 to €79,081.
