Volunteer: Treasurer - Business to Arts role on the Board of Directors of Business to Arts. This is a Trustee position within a CLG, with a focus on financial leadership to support the organisation's mission.
As long-term Board members' terms come to an end, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our dynamic Board of Directors to deliver upon our strategic priorities and help achieve our vision of an Ireland where business and the arts in partnership inspire and shape the world around us. Specifically, we are looking for a Treasurer.
Your ImpactAs a Trustee, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives that promote the transformative power of arts–business collaboration. Your insights will guide efforts to foster meaningful connections between businesses, artists, and cultural organisations, leading to greater social impact and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities (for this role in a CLG)- Financial Oversight And Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and presentation of financial statements and reports to the Board. Monitor the company's financial health by regularly reviewing financial statements and KPIs. Oversee the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Budgeting And Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the CEO, financial controller/bookkeeper, and executive management. Provide financial analysis and guidance on strategic planning initiatives and funding options. Ensure alignment of financial strategies and budgets with the organisation's goals.
- Internal Controls And Compliance: Ensure appropriate internal controls to safeguard assets and compliance with relevant financial regulations and best practices. Oversee preparation and submission of statutory financial returns and reports.
- Audit And Risk Management: Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors; review and monitor implementation of audit recommendations. Identify and manage financial risks with appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Board Engagement And Communication: Present financial reports at Board meetings with clear explanations. Advise the Board on financial matters, investments, funding strategies, and risk management. Liaise with the Governance, Finance & Audit committee and other board committees as necessary.
- Support And Mentorship: Provide guidance to the CEO and Executive team on financial matters; mentor other Board members on financial oversight.
- Educational Background: Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Significant experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within not-for-profit or corporate sectors. Previous not-for-profit board experience is an advantage.
- Skills And Competencies: Strong understanding of financial management, analytical skills, proficiency in financial software, excellent communication and presentation abilities, high ethical standards.

The role requires significant time, including preparation for and attendance at board meetings, finance committee meetings, and related events; availability to respond to financial matters as needed.
