This position is a hybrid position based in our new state of the art Head Office in Maynooth - an open plan office, with wonderful collaborative working areas, subsidised canteen, EV charging points, and is easily accessible by car or public transport.

The IT Operations Lead oversees the management and delivery of IT operation related services, ensuring the operational efficiency, reliability, and security of the IT service to the PLC. The role is broad, collaborative, and requires excellent communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead change management processes to ensure seamless IT transitions with minimal disruption. Plan and execute changes through regular CAB meetings and maintain auditable documentation.
  • Oversee timely resolution of IT incidents and risks, implement strategies to minimize their impact, and conduct regular reviews with auditable records.
  • Manage annual reviews of IT policies and procedures, updating documentation to reflect service and compliance changes.
  • Ensure key vendor performance through annual reviews, compliance oversight, and collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage IT budgets, cost tracking, and asset registers, ensuring accurate documentation and financial oversight.
  • Handle vendor renewals, service reviews, and contract negotiations, aligning with support and maintenance agreements.
  • Deliver continuous IT security training in compliance with company policies, collaborating with L&D teams and external vendors.
  • Ensure IT operations meet legal and regulatory standards, manage data access requests (DSARs), and maintain compliance audits.
  • Develop, review, and test Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, ensuring documentation and effectiveness.
  • Support IT projects requiring operational handover and chair weekly IT team meetings to track and assign action points.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in a similar role previously preferably within the construction sector.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and execute IT change management processes, including running CAB meetings and maintaining auditable records.
  • Strong background in managing IT incidents and risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and conducting regular reviews.
  • Experience in managing IT policies and procedures, ensuring updates align with changes in services, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in IT cost management, including invoice processing, budgeting, and financial oversight.
  • Hands-on experience in tracking and maintaining IT assets, including physical, virtual, and service-related assets, with a focus on audit readiness.
