We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for a Road Scheme in Limerick. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel onsite, as well as compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

As our successful candidate you will be competent in the following areas:

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Lead investigations into any accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and implementation of safety measures.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance, ensuring continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Keep up to date with the latest health and safety legislation and industry trends and advise management on necessary changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a Health and Safety role, particularly within the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations in Ireland.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
