The Impact You'll Make in this Role

Project Management

As an EHS Engineer with Solventum, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Initiating and completing activities leading to new/improved safety methods which have significant impact potential at project level within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Participating in training, audits, incident reporting, assessments, Global Safety and Health Plan (GSHP) programme development and safety projects.
Communication
  • Developing a network of support (within facilities, manufacturing, engineering, warehousing teams) to facilitate completion of assignments. Providing safety consulting services on task-oriented programs.
  • Analysis and reporting of key health & safety data to senior level co-workers. Collaborating with management to define project parameters and develop correction plans.
Leadership
  • Leading all activities relating to Risk Management by managing the site risk assessment schedule and driving continuous improvement to reduce risks on site. Potential to lead teams within the assigned business unit, providing technical assistance and guidance to others.
  • Determining processes relating to Management of Change to ensure EHS requirements have been considered for all new projects, ensuring the process is communicated effectively and regularly reviewed across site.
Corporate Initiatives
  • Creating an EHS excellence culture by promoting and supporting the sites sustainability and environmental management program.
  • Building a working knowledge of key corporate initiatives. Supporting business units and EHS Champions to interpret, understand EHS requirements through Tier Board process and monitoring compliance to EHS programs.
Your Skills and Expertise
Qualifications

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum is looking for candidates who must have strong background experience and/or the following qualifications:

  • EHS Degree / NEBOSH General Certificate preferred or similar Safety qualification.
  • Strong understanding and implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements is essential.
  • Engineering skills / qualifications is an advantage.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with innovative occupational health, wellbeing and behavioural programme's such as Mental Health First Aid is an advantage.
  • At least 2 - 3 years' experience, ideally working within a busy manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical environment.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
Work Type: Hybrid (requirements to be onsite for induction period, and in line with the business's needs. Option to work several days from home)
Work Location: Athlone, Ireland.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
