Senior Analyst, Tax Processing

As part of the Custody Tax Operations team, the Tax Analyst is at the centre of the International withholding tax processing. Reporting to the Team Leader, responsibilities include ensuring team requests, recording, and managing Northern Trust's client tax documentation, and accurately identifying, processing, and tracking opportunities for the reduction of withholding tax on behalf of Northern Trust's global client base. The role requires responding quickly and professionally to inquiries in an accurate and timely manner, with a focus on continually improving the service offered to clients.

• Take on assigned tasks from the Team Manager and Team Leader
• Process, scan, record, distribute, and file large volumes of documentation received daily
• Review the work of others
• Provide training and control reporting as needed
• Handle complex queries and refer complicated issues to higher-level specialists or regional tax teams as needed
• Respond promptly and appropriately to general queries from clients, custodians, and Relationship Managers
• Work closely with relevant contacts within the process scope to provide the best possible service, responding to queries and escalating as appropriate
• Be aware of all service level agreements in place
• Continuously meet and exceed client expectations and requirements
• Review processes and procedures to ensure tasks are completed efficiently to a high standard

• Strong client servicing capabilities and excellent communication skills
• Resilient to pressure with the ability to adapt quickly
• Accuracy and attention to detail at all times
• Numerically competent with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good core IT skills – Adobe, Excel, MS Office, Word, etc.
• Ability to work within a team environment
