The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational support of our Real Estate and Private Credit Funds, working closely with colleagues across the business including the Investment Management teams, and other operational and corporate enabler teams to deliver operational excellence in a strong and robust control environment.

The team is also responsible for the design and oversight of the delivery of the Private Assets end-to-end target operating model, ensuring the development of an efficient and scalable operating model designed to facilitate significant growth as the business scales over the coming years.

Communication and relationship building are key parts of this role.

The Expertise We're Looking For
  • Ideally 1+ years CLO or Loan Closing experience
  • Ideally experience of Clearpar system and/or WSO but this is not essential
  • Reconciliation and problem-solving experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate up and across the organisation
  • Demonstrable experience in a risk-averse environment, particularly in a settlement context
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive, highly organized, and process-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build relationships both internally and externally quickly as well as the ability to grow these further

About Your Role

This role is ideal for a proactive Loan Closer looking to expand their experience within CLO Operations and Loan Closing. The main goal is to support the CLO desk, utilizing your passion to develop a career in Operations. This position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with experienced colleagues. Key responsibilities include:

  • Booking, confirming, and settling loan trades for leveraged loan investments
  • Coordinating with trade counterparties for timely settlement
  • Reviewing loan/credit documentation
  • Preparing and distributing internal reports
  • Managing cash for multiple SPVs to settle trades
  • Performing daily reconciliations of trade positions and cash
  • Identifying operational risks and ensuring internal processes are followed
  • Escalating issues with potential significant impact on daily operations
  • Providing exceptional service to business partners
  • Collaborating within the team to manage work volumes and quality standards
How Your Work Impacts the Organization

The GMO Trade Operations Division acts as a servicing center for trading desks and external managers globally, facilitating trade capture, confirmation, and settlement of various transactions. Internal groups such as Compliance, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Fund Accounting, and Custody support the group's daily responsibilities, ensuring accurate and timely information for NAV calculation and investor valuation.
