ATG are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Roads Engineer to join a dynamic team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading road infrastructure projects, overseeing design and delivery, and ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of transport infrastructure in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the design, planning, and delivery of road infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the preparation of feasibility studies, design reports, and contract documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) and DMURS (Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets) guidelines.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including local authorities, government agencies, and contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical input during construction phases.
  • Oversee budgetary control and project timelines, ensuring efficient project delivery.
  • Implement sustainable and innovative engineering solutions in road design.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client engagement.
Minimum Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional body.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in road and highway engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of Irish road design standards and regulations.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
  • Experience with contract administration and procurement processes.
