International Payroll Specialist

We are working with a global biopharmaceutical company that focuses on discovering, developing, and commercializing innovative medicines. They are seeking an experienced International Payroll Specialist to support their global payroll operations across multiple regions (EMEA, LATAM, ASIA PAC, and Canada). The role will work closely with HR, payroll providers, and internal/external audit teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR and payroll providers to ensure seamless, accurate payroll processing.
  • Handle month-end payroll activities, including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and payment requirements, both monthly and annually.
  • Implement controls to track payroll changes and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit reports to internal/external agencies (e.g., Inland Revenue).
  • Maintain control documentation, process flows, and procedures.
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement in payroll processes.
  • Manage the Payroll SPARC system, addressing queries and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with external providers on expatriate and international payroll treatments.
  • Support audit activities to maintain payroll integrity.
  • Assist with project-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in international payroll within a multi-country corporate environment, preferably in a Shared Service Centre.
  • Proficiency in Oracle, SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure timely, accurate payroll processing.
  • Strong customer service focus, delivering on multiple customer expectations.
  • Process-focused with a track record of improving processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving ability, with the capacity to address complex issues and deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.
  • Preferably IPASS qualified or an equivalent international certification.
