My client, a growing and dynamic accounting practice in Cork, is looking for a skilled and motivated Practice Accountant to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in a small to medium-sized practice and be eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm. Key Responsibilities for the Practice Accountant:

  • Preparation of financial statements for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.
  • Managing client relationships.
  • Preparation and submission of tax returns.
  • Assisting with audits, including managing assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Providing guidance and support to junior staff, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Liaising with clients on a regular basis to offer proactive advice and ensure their needs are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.

Requirements for the Practice Accountant:

  • Part or fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CPA.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a small to medium-sized practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).

Desirable Skills for the Practice Accountant:

  • Experience with audit and assurance services.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of the team.
