Saint John of God North East Services is seeking Day Service Facilitators to support the delivery of meaningful, person-centered, and community-based services that promote active citizenship for those we support. The facilitators will enable individuals to participate in activities related to education, employment, sports, social, and recreational pursuits.

Position Details:

  • Permanent and specified purpose positions, 35 hours per week

Requirements:

  • A relevant Third Level Qualification in Social Care, Education, Community Development, Training, etc. (QQI Level 6 or higher)
  • Minimum of three years' experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities or in a similar field
  • Experience in person-centered planning, capacity building, social inclusion, positive behavior supports, community development, advocacy, and empowerment
  • Ability to facilitate and support service users in various programs and community-based activities
  • Ability to identify and support opportunities to build natural support networks and social roles
  • Knowledge of the New Directions Personal Support Services, EASI Process, and the Interim Standards for New Directions
  • Understanding and ability to utilize alternative communication aids and assistive technology
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and flexibly
  • A natural ability to listen, consider, support, and advocate for the people supported by Northeast Services
  • A full clean driving license and own vehicle
