As a Social Care Manager, and the Person in Charge (PIC) for currently three locations which form a Designated Centre, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and maintaining high-quality care.

As part of your role, you will collaborate closely with your Regional Manager and maintain clear, effective communication to achieve shared goals. Your role is also supported within a Network of professionals, including Advanced Autism Practitioner, Nurse and Quality & Safety Officer which are allocated to support you and your team within their roles. This ensures that you receive professional support for your own guidance and development and that your own team also receive the support of the broader expertise needed to deliver the best possible services.

The Social Care Manager will support high-quality service delivery through day-to-day management. In this role, you will mentor and lead staff teams, working in partnership with individuals to help them develop purposeful and meaningful visions for their lives. You will guide them to identify and access the necessary steps to articulate these visions in practice.

This role requires a Social Care Manager who will drive and support residents in building their capacity, championing interdependence so that support naturally reduces as their independence grows.

You will empower individuals to take charge of their lives, making choices that reflect their will and preferences both at home and in the community. With community integration at the heart of this service model, this role is all about fostering personal growth and meaningful connections, guided by the quality-of-life model.

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager and will work as an integral part of the regional team.

Essential Qualifications
  • Honours Degree in Social Studies/Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Have a qualification in Management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and use of internet and email.
  • A full, clean manual driving licence.
  • A thorough understanding of HIQA regulations.
  • Eligibility for CORU Registration.
ExperienceEssential
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Management or Supervisory role in the area of Health or Social Care.
  • Have knowledge and experience supporting Autistic people and/or those with Intellectual Disability.
  • Experience managing and adhering to budgets as agreed by the Finance Dept.
  • Develop and manage rosters for the team, allocating staff as per service needs or requirements.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and standards while ensuring quality service delivery for the individual supported.
  • Managing and responding effectively to internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Managing staff induction, probation, supervision and performance management.
  • Ability to ensure effective governance, operational management and administration of the service.
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally within the role.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to collaborate effectively, share expertise, and ensure the best outcomes for those we support.
  • Confidence and experience liaising with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Ability to embrace support and lead change in alignment with the organisations ongoing service improvement initiatives.
Desirable
  • Experience of applying the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, Trust in Care and Adult Safeguarding.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Have knowledge and experience supporting Autistic people and/or those with Intellectual Disability.
  • Ability to promote independence in individuals with support needs.
