AA Euro Group have been retained to recruit a Senior Estimator, who will be based in our client's head office in Co. Cork to be responsible for the production of estimates for a range of projects.

Ideal candidate will have experience working with a main contractor in the construction industry.

The Role:
  1. Ensure all tender documents are received, organized, and shared with relevant team members.
  2. Prepare and issue subcontract and material enquiries, including defining scope of works and attendance schedules where applicable.
  3. Track and follow up on tender returns, maintaining an up-to-date enquiry schedule.
  4. Work with the tender team to raise, document, and resolve any tender-related queries.
  5. Identify gaps in tender documentation and compile necessary clarifications and estimator notes.
  6. Develop and maintain a risk schedule and opportunity assessment to support decision-making.
  7. Establish a value engineering schedule to explore cost-saving measures and efficiencies.
  8. Conduct thorough analysis of tenders and pricing received from the supply chain to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  9. Prepare clear net cost reports for tender settlements, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
  10. Compile and finalize the full tender submission, including the Form of Tender, Bills of Quantities, and all relevant commercial documentation.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management.
  2. Good knowledge of general construction contracts, relevant legislation and standards.
  3. 7+ years estimating experience in infrastructure with a recognised Main Contractor.
  4. The ability to work independently and to manage inputs from a range of specialist suppliers and in-house staff.
  5. Good interpersonal and team-working skills.
  6. Be results oriented.
  7. Have the ability to work under pressure.
  8. Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word, and ideally some experience of Microsoft Project and an estimating software system.
