Job Opportunity: Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

Location: Co. Wicklow

Employment Type: Full-time | Monday–Friday (some weekend work on a rotational basis)

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

Additional Benefits: Annual bonus, pension contribution

A well-established food production company in Co. Wicklow is seeking a hands-on, people-focused Production Manager to oversee daily operations in a busy packhouse environment.

This is a leadership role that will require a proactive and organised individual with experience in food manufacturing. You will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality, and motivating a team to deliver strong results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of 20–25 production staff, including line leaders
  • Drive productivity and performance across all areas of production
  • Monitor and reduce waste through process improvement and training
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
  • Control overtime, manage production costs, and optimise stock use
  • Oversee daily and weekly production planning and ensure KPIs are met
  • Liaise with the warehouse and planning teams to streamline processes
  • Support audit preparation and quality system adherence
  • Maintain all required production and performance documentation
  • Champion a positive working culture and team development
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years in a food production supervisory/management role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proven ability to manage in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of quality systems, food safety, and health & safety protocols
  • Comfortable with administrative tasks, reporting, and KPI tracking
