POSTS: STAFF NURSE / ENHANCED NURSE


• 1 x Specific Purpose Part-Time 69 hours a fortnight

CASTLEREA ADULT SERVICES (Castlerea, Ballintubber, Ballinlough, Cloonfad areas)

A panel may be formed from this campaign to fill current and future vacancies of full or part-time duration, including locum roles.

Castlerea Adult Services offers community-based services such as day programs, residential, respite, outreach, family support, and multidisciplinary support. Support is provided in various settings including day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training, and education, tailored to individual needs.

We seek innovative, motivated individuals willing to adapt to the needs of those supported, with a flexible and positive approach.

Location:

Castlerea Adult Services, with work locations potentially changing based on service needs.

Qualifications:

  • A current Live Register Certificate from NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID, or RGN qualification.
  • A full, clean manual driving licence valid for Irish roads; assistance will be provided to obtain a Class D1 licence if needed.

Experience:

Experience with individuals with an intellectual disability and understanding of the associated responsibilities is desirable; full training will be provided.

Skills:

  • Good judgement, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with families and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to educate staff and families on health promotion.
  • Willingness to participate in person-centred planning, team meetings, training, and performance management.

Working Hours:

  • Part-time, 69 hours per fortnight, including days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and night shifts, based on a 14-day roster.

Annual leave entitlement is 24 days pro-rata, with service-related leave after 5 and 10 years.

Remuneration:

Salary scales as of 01/03/2025: Staff Nurse from €36,919 to €53,340 annually (pro-rata for part-time), with increments and long service pay. Enhanced Nurse salary ranges from €43,872 to €55,093 annually, with similar increments.

Additional payments apply for weekends, holidays, sleep-ins, and night duties. Location allowance of €2,637 per annum applies when supporting individuals with severe/profound intellectual disabilities.

All roles are permanent, pensionable, and may be filled from a panel formed through this process for up to 12 months.
