Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant - Adult Services

Full Time, Permanent

This recruitment is to fill a full-time permanent Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant post in St. Michaels House Adult Services. The position will work with adults with an intellectual disability and complex needs. The post will be based in St. Michaels House Coolock and/or Ballymun Clinics, with service provision across Adult Services in St. Michaels House - North (Ballymun), North-East (Coolock) and South Regions (Goatstown). Supervision will be provided by experienced Occupational Therapists and/or Physiotherapists and line management will be under the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Managers. Candidates interested in part-time positions are welcome to apply but should indicate this at application stage.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy and/or physiotherapy support to adults with intellectual disability and complex needs across designated regions.
  • Work under supervision of experienced therapists and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to care plans, contribute to assessments and therapy delivery as appropriate for role and competence.
Essential Criteria
  • Possess a QQI Level 5 major award in a relevant qualification (e.g., Physiotherapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Therapy Assistant) or equivalent health services skills on the NFQ.
  • Personal competence and capacity to discharge the duties of the role.
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience as a Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Experience in adult intellectual disability services or related fields.
  • Experience working as part of a team and strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work in a self-directed manner.
  • Full clean driver license and use of a car.
