Position Summary
The Senior Staff Engineer, CI will lead projects dedicated to improving productivity and processes at the Macroom manufacturing facility. The key responsibility of this role will be to manage the transformational initiative to support growth volumes along with reducing costs and to identify and implement process improvements in all areas of the manufacturing process. This will require working closely with cross-functional teams as well as managing projects designed to achieve the lowest overall costs and improve processes using Lean Methodology.

What you will do

  1. Drive the development, assessment, recommendations, and implementation of continuous improvement/re-engineering initiatives to simplify processes, eliminate waste, reduce operational risk and achieve cost efficiencies in the manufacturing process.
  2. Develop a customer-focused CI framework that documents and monitors performances. Support initiatives through robust data driven analytics.
  3. Train, coach, and mentor designated teams and individuals within the business on Lean concepts and support the business to meet/exceed budgets.
  4. Provide management support to enable problem solving on business opportunities.
  5. Track and measure the CI program through leveraging the Stryker Production System and visual factory dashboards.
  6. Identify, manage and drive cost improvement initiatives measured in dollars saved across the business.
  7. Partner with local management to define relevant process KPI's, including ownership.
  8. Engage and participate in supporting the delivery of business KPIs.
  9. Drive continuous improvement through the greater integration of automated systems throughout the plant.
  10. Drive implementation and application of lean principles to finding optimum solutions to technical problems.

What you will need

  1. Bachelor's degree or Level 8 in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Operations or related field is required.
  2. 6+ years experience with defining and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. High energy and change management mindset.
  4. Stakeholder management experience ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  5. Lean Leader/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  6. Project Management skills (certification preferred).
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects.
  8. Experience and track record of success in the rollout of continuous improvement programs at a site level.
  9. Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  10. A true change agent who can influence diverse groups across the organization in implementing new programs and ideas.
