HEAnet - PR & Marketing Manager (maternity cover 12mth ftc)

HEAnet is Ireland's National Research and Education Network, providing internet connectivity and ICT shared services across all levels of the Irish education system, reaching in excess of 1,000,000 end users. We connect learners and researchers across all of Ireland to education resources and to fellow national educational and research networks in Europe, and the rest of the world.

We are now looking for an experienced PR & Marketing Manager to join the Client Services Function on a twelve (12) month fixed term maternity cover contract. This role is primarily based at our Dublin 1 offices, but we offer a flexible remote working arrangement: work from home up to three (3) days a week, with at least two (2) days a week in the office.

What the Client Services function does

The Client Services function within HEAnet manages the relationship with HEAnet clients. This includes raising awareness of HEAnet services and working with clients to identify new common, repeatable and shareable solutions. Client Services arrange client meetings, workshops and events and a conference on a regular basis.

What the PR & Marketing Manager does

The PR & Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing one team member in the PR & Marketing team who have a wide range of responsibilities, from coordinating new client onboarding and drafting news stories to supporting the organisation of our 3-day annual conference for 400+ delegates. The team works closely with other teams in HEAnet as well as our clients, stakeholders and external agencies.

The PR & Marketing Manager will provide leadership and mentoring to their team to ensure that corporate publications, digital channels such as website and social media, client-facing events, PR initiatives, brand initiatives, new services launches, and external communications plans and activities are implemented efficiently and effectively. They will be responsible for implementing the annual marketing plan, developing and maintaining the public image of HEAnet, managing external agencies and will have budgetary responsibility for relevant budgets in line with public procurement processes.

What we need from you
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to demonstrate marketing and brand management experience (including branding/rebranding of initiatives/services/products)
  • Valuing teamwork and an ability to work effectively with all colleagues in Client Services, the organisation and clients to achieve common goals
  • Demonstrate strong team management, project management and organisation skills with an ability to prioritise effectively in a busy and dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. You will be comfortable conveying information in an effective manner, which includes conveying your approach well, but also taking account of elements from others' perspective, and where appropriate resolving conflicting viewpoints
  • Self-motivation and the willingness to take on responsibility for your own area of work
  • A flexible attitude to the evolving needs of the post and its environment

We don't need you to have experience in the following areas, but if you did, it could be beneficial:

  • Event/conference management experience
  • Experience working in the education sector or ICT sector
  • Brand Development experience
