Overview

Join to apply for the Python Engineer - SRE Core Team role at JPMorganChase.

We are looking for a Python Engineer to contribute to the SRE Core team, delivering end-to-end cloud-native microservices and focusing on observability, SLOs, chaos engineering, and reliability. You will be involved in design and architecture and participate in the full SDLC lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain Python applications using FastAPI to power internal tools and platform initiatives focused on observability, SLOs, chaos engineering and system reliability.
  • Database and Data Handling: Implement data-driven solutions using DynamoDB to ensure high performance and stability within our applications.
  • Code Quality & Testing: Deliver clean, efficient, and scalable code with robust unit and functional testing, code reviews, and CI practices.
  • Observability & Reliability: Contribute to design of platforms that provide actionable insights and automated alerting/reporting on SLOs, driving a culture of reliability.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work with cross-functional teams to share best practices and foster technical innovation, ensuring tools meet current needs and adapt to emerging challenges in reliability engineering.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software development concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Proven proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using FastAPI
  • Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases in a production environment
  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications
  • Strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable code supported by robust testing and CI practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong communication skills and a continuous-improvement mindset
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and its ecosystem
  • Experience or interest in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles
