Responsibilities

  1. Overall responsibility for growing MRS-GM's presence in the Irish market.
  2. Ensure effective underwriting and distribution teams that support and comply with the business plan for Ireland, with profitable underwriting of Lines of Business.
  3. Generate maximum ROI while maintaining reputation, integrity, client care, and regulatory compliance.

General Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the CEO MRS-GM Europe and senior management to develop and execute a scalable, sustainable strategy for Ireland, aiming for EUR 50m in 5 years.
  2. Strengthen existing relationships and develop new broker relationships to drive business inflow.
  3. Develop and grow the local team and enhance underwriting and distribution capabilities.
  4. Refine operational models for scalability and efficiency in line with European standards.
  5. Engage with international stakeholders to ensure best practices are known and applied.

Leadership

  1. Represent MRS-GM Ireland as the brand ambassador.
  2. Recruit, lead, and motivate staff to execute the Irish business strategy.
  3. Support staff development through continuous objective setting.
  4. Manage underwriting and distribution teams to meet targets and regulatory requirements.
  5. Share knowledge and industry best practices across European operations.

Business Development

  1. Strengthen and explore new broker and client relationships to secure new and renewal business.
  2. Maintain market awareness and develop management reports regularly.
  3. Ensure adherence to company procedures and compliance standards.
  4. Conduct peer reviews to ensure compliance with the business plan.
  5. Promote good conduct and client outcomes.

Skills & Experiences

  1. Proven leadership in primary insurance, with a track record of business development and results.
  2. Well-connected within the Irish insurance market with strong broker relationships.
  3. Knowledge of regulated financial services to become an approved person.
  4. Entrepreneurial mindset with a curious, innovative approach.
  5. Market awareness and ability to implement positive changes.
  6. Strategic thinking and team inspiration skills.
  7. Credibility with senior stakeholders, technical expertise, and integrity.
  8. Multicultural mindset, emotional intelligence, and change management skills.
  9. Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  10. University degree or relevant professional qualification.
