The project:

The technical author will be responsible for bringing consistency into developing contract content for main infrastructure contracts, professional service contracts and public, private partnership contracts. You will have the knowledge and skill set to be able to define requirements which can then be consistently applied and measured throughout the Project Procurement and following contract administration. You will work well with stakeholders, transforming their needs into deliverables, with the use of consistent language and requirements. Working as part of the programme team the role holder will support the development and delivery of the programme and provide general support & guidance to the programme team.

You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities. You will manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs). You will actively network and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.

You'll need to have:
  1. Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards.
  2. In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
  3. Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
  4. Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
  5. Developed contract requirements which are applied through contracting models such as NEC4 or PPP.
  6. Developed evaluation criteria which aligns to key performance indicators, critical success factors, the balanced scorecard and sponsors requirements.
  7. Supported the overall programme evaluation criteria from a Delivery perspective.
  8. Responded to tender queries with concise and accurate clarifications.
  9. Evaluated tender returns using the tender evaluation models and scoring.
  10. Defined mapping from requirements to the benefits delivered in both a progressive and final state.
You'll also have:
  1. An ability to work effectively in a team environment
  2. The ability to write contract content, ideally within a requirements based scenario
  3. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  4. Stakeholder focused and agile to their needs
  5. Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service
