Overview

SciPro are supporting a Pharmaceutical client with their search for an Automation Project Manager to join them on an initial 12-month contract. This is an onsite role in County Wicklow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead automation strategy, development, and implementation for pharmaceutical production systems, with a focus on Siemens PCS 7 DCS.
  • Manage automation projects from design through commissioning, qualification, and handover.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Siemens PCS 7, including architecture, configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Ensure systems are compliant with cGMP, GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process Engineering, IT, Quality, Validation, Maintenance, and Operations) to support manufacturing objectives.
  • Lead a small team of automation engineers and contractors, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
  • Develop and maintain automation documentation, including URS, FDS, SDS, FAT/SAT protocols, and validation documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in automation, process control, data integrity, and digitalization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
  • Oversee integration of PCS 7 with MES, historians, and other enterprise systems.
