The Brothers of Charity Services in Ireland provide a variety of services and supports to over 6,500 people with an intellectual disability or autism, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford. The supports, which include residential, respite, day, host families, home based, and multidisciplinary services, are provided by nearly 6,000 staff with diverse professional backgrounds and experience.

About Deerpark Services:Deerpark Services is a developing community-based day and residential service in Ballinasloe, providing community-based day, respite, and residential services to adults with varying support needs. We aim to build relationships with each individual and their family, supporting people to be valued citizens and to experience ordinary life. Our goal is to create opportunities for valued social roles and genuine friendships within the community.
The Role:The Support Worker reports to the Team Leader and plays a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals can participate in community and leisure activities, make choices, and pursue a fulfilling lifestyle. We seek innovative, creative, and visionary individuals eager to help achieve this vision. Experience in the Health Care/Intellectual Disability sector is preferred. Flexibility and adaptability to support individual needs daily are essential.
Qualifications:Applicants should have a good general education; a recognized qualification in the field of Intellectual Disability (such as QQI Level 5 or higher) is desirable. A full, clean manual driving license allowing driving manual vehicles on Irish roads and personal vehicle use is essential. Fluency in verbal and written English is required.
Experience:Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviors is desirable.
Skills:Candidates must demonstrate flexibility, excellent communication, teamwork skills, and enthusiasm for the role.
Working Hours:78 hours per fortnight (3-week schedule) and 70 hours per fortnight (2-week schedule). Positions involve working on a 7-day roster, including sleepovers, split shifts, day and night duties, public holidays, and weekends. Flexibility is essential to deliver quality services based on Personal Outcome Measures.
Remuneration:Salary is based on the Department of Health Care Assistant (Disability Services) pay scale, with Long Service Increment (LSI) of €46,984 per annum after 3 years on the maximum scale. Additional payments apply for weekends, public holidays, and night duties. Positions include permanent full-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, and permanent part-time roles, all pensionable. A nine-month probationary period applies, with possible extension at the employer's discretion. Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
