Our team is looking for a highly motivated Support Engineer, with a strong background in cloud operations, to become a part of the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). If you're a highly-motivated, security-focused engineer looking for an opportunity to grow technically, support critical security services, and contribute to a business-critical team, this role is for you. Amazon will provide relocation support for successful applicants relocating within the EU.
Eligibility requirement: Successful applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesThe Amazon Security team owns security for all of the services offered by AWS, including EC2, S3, and many others, as well as the security of our global retail sites. This team is an EU-based Operations team, integrated with Software Development teams, supporting Amazon Foundational Security Services, to provide our customers with secure by default security services.
We dive deep into security technologies such as new access control design patterns, identity security services, access control, authorization, authentication, and lifecycle management to support our customers as Amazon continues to scale and grow. We are looking for software professionals from diverse backgrounds, who are creative problem solvers, and passionate about delivering solutions that improve both user experience and security.
A day in the life involves collaborating with leaders, operations, and ensuring improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience maintaining software systems or related fields.
- Experience with Cloud Technology.
- Experience with Security Services.
- Experience decomposing complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions.
- Experience proactively solving problems before they occur.
- Familiarity operating services in AWS or another cloud platform.
- Familiarity in at least one scripting language such as Bash, Python, or Ruby to automate tasks.
- Familiarity across common technology domain areas, such as hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
