Our client is a manufacturing organization seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join their Kerry site to maintain a safe and compliant workplace as the company expands.

The Health and Safety Officer will play a vital role in ensuring a safe working environment in this manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety programs, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct safety training sessions for employees on relevant topics, including hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe operating practices.
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the facility to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and near misses, documenting findings and developing strategies to prevent future incidents.
  • Monitor compliance with Irish health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees in safety initiatives and encouraging open communication about safety concerns.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting drills to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Prepare safety performance reports for management, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
