About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced MEP Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role will be responsible for managing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects during the pre-construction phase of major industrial projects—particularly data centres and large-scale warehouse facilities.

As an MEP Pre-Construction Manager, you will collaborate closely with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure project scopes, budgets, and timelines are clearly defined and aligned with execution strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP design coordination and development during the pre-construction phase.
  • Review and evaluate MEP designs for constructability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage MEP bid packages, procurement strategy, and subcontractor engagement.
  • Provide detailed MEP cost estimates and value engineering options.
  • Collaborate with architectural, structural, and civil teams to ensure holistic project coordination.
  • Lead technical reviews and due diligence for large data centres or warehouse projects.
  • Identify and mitigate risks early in the pre-construction lifecycle.
  • Stay current with code requirements, industry trends, and emerging technologies in MEP systems—especially those relevant to mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a dedicated MEP pre-construction or design management role.
  • Proven experience with data centre or large warehouse projects (minimum of 2 large-scale projects preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and low-voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, CostX).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE or PMP certification a plus.
  • Experience with modular construction or prefabricated MEP systems.
  • LEED or other sustainability accreditation.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale data centre requirements and Uptime Institute standards.
