We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior VP, Automatic Exchange of Information and Tax Risk Management, to join our Asset Servicing team. This role is located in Dublin and is HYBRID.

In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ownership of DAC6 and CRS policy and governance for BNY, including ensuring lines of businesses, including Custody, adhere to DAC6 and CRS requirements.
  • Oversight of the CRS and DAC6 compliance within BNY including the design and effectiveness of operational processes.
  • Provision of tax technical support to Asset Servicing and clients focusing primarily on global initiatives aimed at tackling tax evasion (e.g., DAC6 & CRS), including supporting BNY's implementation project(s).
  • In respect of anti-tax avoidance law developments impacting Custody, work with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are implemented to enable BNY and clients meet these requirements.
  • Identify and address potential BNY liabilities/risk exposures towards tax authorities and/or clients in respect of the custody tax services.
  • Advise on required service/process changes and work with Senior Management to advocate implementation of change to reduce identified tax risk.
  • Ensure clear and consistent service standards and contractual language with clients regarding custody tax services.
  • Involvement in various Bank-wide risk and control initiatives, coordinating on behalf of Tax Product.
  • Leadership, oversight and guidance to assist business units in responding to tax audits (standard and ad-hoc) and non-standard requests for information, maintaining BNY's tax compliance responsibilities toward tax authorities and clients.
  • Leadership and oversight in tax authorities' requests for exchange of information in regard to Custody clients.
  • Represent BNY in relevant tax industry working group meetings as necessary.
  • Implement relevant marketing collateral, thought leadership and education.
  • Work in a multi-disciplined team located across various time-zones.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Preferably qualification as a tax advisor or tax lawyer.
  • Extensive tax experience working within the asset servicing business with deep knowledge on domestic and foreign withholding taxes, systems of global exchange of tax related information (FATCA, CRS, DAC6), tax relief systems, tax treaty analysis, capital gains and financial transaction taxes and fund accounting.
  • Strong client focus, with proven experience of working with large asset managers.
  • Team player able to work across multiple lines of business with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical and managerial skills.
  • Knowledge of French or German language would be beneficial but not essential.
