Our client, a Cork-based multinational medical device manufacturing company, is recruiting for Maintenance Technicians. The openings will have a contract duration of 6 months.

Summary of Job

Support the preventative and predictive maintenance programmes by carrying out effective maintenance routines and repairs to prolong the useful life of the equipment in designated departments. Support the facilities team when required and liaise with contractors onsite. Ensure maximum availability and reliability of site assets.

Responsibilities
  1. Align fully with designated departments within Operations.
  2. Ensure maximum maintenance support for the departments at all times.
  3. Support the Facilities team and systems to maximise equipment uptime in accordance with company requirements.
  4. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to support manufacturing.
  5. Participate in the department's reliability-centred maintenance programme.
  6. Assist in achieving world-class MTTR and MTBF metrics.
  7. Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Manufacturing Equipment Excellence Programme.
  8. Contribute to the Manufacturing Equipment Excellence strategy to meet departmental goals.
  9. Promote continuous improvement and innovation aligned with lean thinking.
  10. Lead and implement the Total Asset Care program within departments.
  11. Participate in the 5S program within departments and technical services areas.
  12. Support NPD and NPI projects during development and introduction.
  13. Promote and participate in continuous improvement processes.
  14. Report work status timely to maintenance coordinators and department leaders.
  15. Maintain logs of activities, hours worked, spare parts used, and downtime using the CMMS.
  16. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  17. Operate equipment safely and efficiently onsite.
  18. Ensure contractors comply with environmental policies and waste management regulations.
  19. Minimize environmental impact of technician activities.
  20. Adhere to company procedures as detailed in CSOPs.

Qualifications & ExperienceEssential
  • Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills
  • Experience in pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding and repair
  • Understanding of robotics
  • Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with vision systems maintenance
  • Experience with Windows networking
  • Programming experience for PLCs, drives, HMIs
  • Theoretical knowledge with practical application
  • Relevant experience in an FDA-regulated industry and GMP requirements
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment
  • Good computer skills
  • 3rd level qualification in automation systems or mechatronics
Desirable
  • Experience with CMMS, preferably Maximo
  • 3-5 years experience in an FDA maintenance environment
  • Experience with label printers and placement equipment
