Barden are partnering with a leading Irish organisation currently undergoing a major IT transformation programme.

This is a unique opportunity to join at the beginning of this journey, helping to shape how IT is run, with real influence over systems, services, and vendors.

The Opportunity

This is not just a hands-on technical role - the emphasis is on vendor management and governance. You will work closely with multiple Managed Service Providers, managing SLAs, service delivery, and budgets, while also providing technical oversight of the organisation's core IT infrastructure.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strategic vendor oversight with hands-on technical involvement, supporting critical projects that will lay the foundation for the company's future IT environment.

About the Role
  • Manage relationships with multiple service providers (SLAs, service reviews, performance management).
  • Oversee core infrastructure components (Microsoft Active Directory, servers, storage, operating systems).
  • Ensure infrastructure security, availability, and compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on infrastructure initiatives and transformation projects.
  • Contribute to the development of IT infrastructure strategy.
About the Person
  • 8-10 years' experience in IT infrastructure, ideally in Microsoft environments.
  • Strong experience managing external IT service providers or vendors.
  • Knowledge of datacentre operations, virtualisation (e.g., VMware), and storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with IT security standards and best practices.
  • Cloud and networking knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
