Job Description

Full time and Part time positions available. 20 hours per week (Part-time); 37.5 hours per week (Full-time). Salary: €14.00 - €14.50 Per hour.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Food Production: complete duties in the kitchen and service areas as directed to ensure an efficient, hygienic service is provided; assist with food preparation as required; transport all food items, cleaning materials and laundry from the delivery area to kitchen store rooms and to kitchen preparation areas as required; clean kitchen floors, walls, waste bins, hot plates, kitchen equipment, canopies, delivery areas, storerooms, walk-in fridges, and all other areas as necessary to ensure a hygienic kitchen and service areas; clean, wash, dry and polish all kitchen equipment and service items by hand or machine; operate necessary sterilising equipment; operate heavy equipment according to manufacturer's instructions; dispose of and recycle rubbish as required.
  • Kitchen Finance: check all stock against delivery orders and ensure correct items and quantities; account for all stock brought into site and store appropriately to minimise waste and loss; handle equipment carefully to avoid breakage; assist in weekly and monthly stock-takes as directed.
  • Health & Safety: understand and comply with Gather & Gather and statutory health, hygiene and safety, quality standards including COSHH and HACCP; de-cant all food items in delivery area and store in appropriate containers to reduce cross contamination; store all food items in line with company and health and safety regulations; de-cant all chemical materials delivered to the site to appropriate containers in line with standards; use and store all chemicals appropriately; wear the correct uniform and safety shoes as directed; report any equipment or building faults and any hygiene, health and safety hazards to the Head Chef, senior brigade members or General Manager.
  • Customer Service: maintain a professional and friendly image with clients and customers at the relevant site; work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues to ensure excellent customer service; attend to customer needs in a polite and helpful manner in line with Gather & Gather style; assist with the service of food as required and accurately handle cash sales.
  • Occasional Responsibilities: attend training courses and Gather & Gather meetings when necessary; act as a resource to the General Manager, Head Chef and other brigade members.
