The Role

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Core Network Engineering Manager who is committed to their work, and should be comfortable working in a fast paced, highly flexible environment. The role will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of a global telecoms core network. This is a great opportunity for an experienced manager to demonstrate their technical and organisational ability, working in a small team of engineers at the cutting edge of IoT technologies.

In this role you will be:

  • Managing a team of highly experienced telecoms engineers.
  • Accountable for the Delivery, Level 3 Operations, and maintenance of a global telecoms core network infrastructure.
  • Setting OKRs and conducting performance management with the team.
  • Ensuring the continuous flow of work through the team to deliver on company targets.
  • Validating 3rd party solutions and vendors are performant and cost efficient.
  • Driving the success of geo redundant connectivity solutions.

Requirements

  • People management skills with a telecoms background.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and lead an experienced team.
  • Negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Familiarity and experience with the following required: HSS, PGW, STP, DRA, PCRF, GMSC, SMSC
  • Contribute to and guide telecoms core network infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Experience working in a NOC environment preferred.
  • Familiar with Kanban methodologies for workload management
  • Proven track record in working with small teams.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Previous experience working to aggressive timelines essential.
  • Commitment to provide a high quality and professional service.
  • Ability to prioritise work tasks.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.

New hires at Cubic are required to work onsite five days a week during their six-month probation period to get to know the company, their team, and our ways of working. After probation, we offer a flexible arrangement of up to eight work-from-home days per month, provided it aligns with business needs and performance standards.
