Main purpose of the role:

Ensure the store operates efficiently and effectively, providing customers with the best service and fresh food at all times in a clean, safe environment. Achieve key store targets (sales and profitability) through effective management of people and operations.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • 2 years' experience in a relevant position is desirable
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Experience balancing cash/tills
  • Highly driven with a strong work ethic
  • Understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets
  • Commercial awareness and brand consciousness
  • Passion for grocery retail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Main duties:
  • Actively embody Centra brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets related to gross profit margin, net margin, waste, and other KPIs as agreed with the Store Manager
  • Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store
  • Merchandise and present the store to the highest standard
  • Be approachable, lead by example, encourage teamwork, and foster a positive workplace atmosphere
  • Develop and promote good communication between employees and management in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Support the Store Manager in team development, training, and store operations
  • Manage employee performance through regular feedback, recognition, and encouragement
  • Handle customer queries efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with store policy
  • Understand and achieve margins across all departments
  • Engage with new initiatives and embrace innovative ways of working
