This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development.

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer at Arup, you will:

  • Contribute to a wide variety of projects, both in Ireland and overseas, working in both the field and office-based work under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Plan, supervise and report on ground investigations.

  • Prepare specifications and reports.
  • Communicate design solutions and advice to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understand trends and best practices in the geotechnical industry and contribute to geotechnical research.
  • Participate in local Professional Associations and start to work towards Chartership.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal presentation formats.
  • Engage in possible short-term assignments within Ireland and overseas.

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for graduates who are currently pursuing a minimum honour bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering. A post-graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, or equivalent is an advantage.

We also value:

  • Ability to work independently as well as a proven team player and have a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Good communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Interest and ability in 3D modelling, scripting, numerical analysis or GIS would be an advantage.
