The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) is a fast-paced transforming mid-size organisation that serves as the representative body for over 250 credit unions across the island of Ireland. Considering our expanding focus on the events space, we're growing our dynamic team to enhance and innovate our activities.
Role DescriptionThe Marketing & Events Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the ILCU Events Lead Coordinator in the planning, coordination, and execution of key annual and quarterly events. These include the ILCU Conference and AGM, National Schools Quiz, National Art Competition, ILCU service events and more. This position is an essential part of our new ILCU strategy and requires a proactive individual prepared to grow in tandem with the role and the organisation. To be successful in this role, you must be self-motivated, organised, structured, and have good people management and customer service skills. You will be required to travel and work outside of normal working hours when attending events, Branch meetings, and other relevant meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist ILCU Events Lead Coordinator in the planning, coordination, and execution of ILCU's major events and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Events Coordinator Lead and Pillar areas to implement event strategies and ensure seamless delivery.
- Manage logistics including venue selection, vendor arrangements, and participant registrations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, vendors, participants, and board members to enhance engagement.
- Contribute to the development of event marketing materials in conjunction with the Marketing team.
- Assist in post-event evaluations, helping to determine successes and areas for improvement.
- Support the Events Coordinator Lead in exploring new opportunities for business development within the events space.
- Maintain accurate records and event documentation to support analysis and reporting.
- Budget management.
- As part of the greater BMX team, this role will adapt to BMX team deliverables as needed.
- 3rd level qualification in Event Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in event planning or project management in a fast-paced organisation – minimum of 3 years.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and adaptable approach to work with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Familiar with Microsoft tools (SharePoint/Teams/OneDrive etc), website management tools and project planning platforms such as monday.com.
- Ability to think outside the box, take initiative and look for innovative solutions.
- Full Irish Driving Licence.
