Medforce is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join a respected establishment in Wexford.

This pivotal role is part of the senior nursing leadership team, working closely with the Director of Nursing to uphold the highest standards of care and support the efficient, compassionate delivery of clinical services.

Requirements

  1. Registered Nurse with NMBI

    • Must be registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

  2. Minimum 7 Years of Post-Registration Experience

    • Including at least 2 years in a nursing management or leadership role (e.g., CNM2, CNM3, or equivalent).

  3. Relevant Management or Leadership Qualification

    • A postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management, Leadership, or Healthcare Management is often required or expected to be in progress.

  4. Strong Clinical Knowledge & Experience in Acute Hospital Settings

    • Ideally with a background in medical, surgical, emergency, or specialist clinical areas.

  5. Proven Leadership and Team Management Skills

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, lead change, and mentor junior staff.

  6. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills

    • Capable of building effective relationships with patients, staff, senior management, and external agencies.

  7. Strong Knowledge of HIQA Standards and Clinical Governance

    • Understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management, patient safety, and audit processes.

  8. Eligibility to Work in Ireland

    • Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland (EU passport or relevant visa).
