Senior Analyst, Reconciliation

Overview

The Reconciliations team is centrally involved in managing resources, processes and customer needs, and is responsible for the daily Cash reconciliations for Fidelity Mutual Funds. The team monitors exceptions to the bank to protect Fidelity's integrity and our shareholders.

The Purpose of Your Role

Your role is essential in driving the accuracy of the mutual funds' accounting and will require you to complete Cash, Position, Bank, Fund, and/or Proxy reconciliations on time and within expectations. The role also emphasizes continuous improvement with an Agile mindset and an active backlog of projects in Jira for you to lead or participate in, collaborating with team members and managers to improve efficiency and service offerings of the department.

Our work is completed through various systematic, written, and verbal interactions. You will interact with the Fund Accounting Teams, TAAC, Cash and Banking Operations, Fidelity Transfer Agents, Transfer Agent Banks, and other internal partners. Key experiences you bring to the role include:

• Expert knowledge of reconciliations and industry regulations, cash & securities movement, accounting principles, and NAV/Mil/Yield calculation components
• Deepening proficiency across multiple security types/products and their process flows
• Ability to quickly come up to speed on processes, systems, and tools used for reconciliations (e.g., Frontier)
• Proactively identify trends, recurring problems and risk; suggest and implement resolutions
• Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment and handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to recognise high-risk items and escalate or seek assistance to minimise losses to shareholders and Fidelity
• Provide broad product, service, and technology expertise and support for projects and escalation calls
• Participate in process improvement teams
• Competent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI)
• Comfort with autonomy and balancing multiple priorities
• Training & coaching team members to maintain proficiency
• Track time and prioritize effectively, focusing on accuracy and timeliness of reconciliations and exception resolution
• Strong attention to detail in identifying high-risk items and communicating them appropriately

The Value You Deliver And Primary Responsibilities

You are central to the day-to-day operations of the team, contributing to reporting to internal business partners or presentations to senior leaders. You protect Fidelity by reconciling account activity or researching and resolving cash exceptions with the appropriate custodian bank, and you work as part of a team to ensure timely actioned resolutions.

• Be a self-starter who utilizes resources and follows protocols autonomously

• Assist with research, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution for complex activity, discrepancies, or widespread production issues
