Technical Lead - Biotech Automatic Inspection Equipment - Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Employment Type: Contract

Our client is a leading international Biotechnology company with a state-of-the-art aseptic manufacturing facility in Dun Laoghaire, South Dublin.

The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing rapid expansion and capital investment.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Ireland's leading aseptic manufacturing plant.

The Technical Lead will support the design and implementation of new Syringe Inspection Lines and may support Filling, Warehouse / Cold-Storage, and Parts Prep areas as needed.

The Engineering Technical Authority (ETA) within the site leads critical project design and provides technical expertise across global operations. This position is part of the ETA organization, which includes Process Systems, Facilities and Utilities, Site Project Engineering, and other engineering functions.

You will report to the Process Technical Lead and focus on delivering a digitally enabled and sustainable facility aligned with digital manufacturing strategies and sustainability goals.

Extensive experience in Automatic Inspection Equipment, Syringe Filling, Material Logistics, and Drug Product Storage Area design, development, and implementation is required.

You must be willing to relocate to the project site for the duration and be able to travel internationally as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and over 10 years of experience in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Experience working directly with automatic inspection equipment
  • Delivery of capital projects exceeding $50m
  • Technical knowledge of automatic inspection equipment, including vision analysis, integration, design, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience leading teams, projects, and programs
  • Extensive experience with Automatic Syringe Inspection Equipment design and delivery
  • Proven ability to oversee equipment vendors and provide technical support in a regulated environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and regulatory compliance skills
  • Knowledge of industry trends, regulations (cGMP, building codes, OSHA, LEED, etc.), and sustainability initiatives
Package
  • Minimum 12-month contract with potential extension
  • Onsite presence required five days a week
  • International travel up to 6 times per year
