Responsibilities
  • Undertake key duties in the Library as outlined for a Library Assistant Grade IV.
  • As a member of the library rostering team, work evenings and weekends to provide cover during library opening hours.
  • May be assigned to a very wide range of areas or activities carried out in a University Library across its campuses.
  • Maintain regular contact with students, staff, the public and organisations at all levels, applying discretion, tact, courtesy and judgement.
  • Utilise Information and Communication Technologies; appointees will be expected to use new techniques and technologies as they arise. SETU will provide training as appropriate.
Hours and Salary
  • Hours of Work: 35 hours per week including nights and weekends; available to work evenings and Saturdays.
  • Salary: Assistant Staff Officer Salary Scale €38,599 - €54,911
  • Annual Leave: 23 days. Leave arrangements in accordance with arrangements authorised by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science from time to time.
