Job Title: Polymer Apprentice

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Polymer Apprentice. This is a 3-year Level 7 Bachelor of Science in Polymer Technology Apprenticeship Programme, providing hands-on experience in quality control, processing, and advanced production techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work within the ethos and standards of the company
  2. Ensure levels of performance and product quality meet KPIs
  3. Collaborate with Operators to ensure Shopfloor Functions are carried out correctly
  4. Lead the Laydown team to ensure product quality, adhering to formulation setup sheets and key parameters
  5. Conduct chemical and facer trials on the production line and monitor their effect on finished boards
  6. Perform pump calibrations and ensure TPM adherence for laminator, Laydown, butler, pump room & bulk tank room
  7. Report maintenance job requirements on the SAP system
  8. Monitor mould release, dispensing system concentration and flow rates, and use Data Validation Tool for process troubleshooting
  9. Liaise with shift leaders and coordinators to maintain a tidy work environment
  10. Assist with laboratory duties, sampling, testing, and re-testing production samples
  11. Support quality control of EPS and cavity therm lines
  12. Participate in process improvement projects and report results in a timely manner
  13. Assist with continuous improvement projects
  14. Complete raw material Goods Inwards accurately and assist with offloading tankers and IBCs
  15. Ensure sufficient IBC stock and bulk tank capacity for line production
  16. Verify chemical Goods Inwards meet required specifications
  17. Perform tasks in accordance with relevant work instructions or to the highest standard possible
  18. Undertake other tasks as requested by management
