Job Overview

The Role:

  • Project Management: Manage and supervise the mechanical aspects of site operations, ensuring project deadlines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and lead mechanical contractors, engineers, and subcontractors. Provide guidance and direction to ensure quality work and maintain team morale.
  • Quality Control: Conduct inspections and audits to ensure mechanical installations meet both technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and procedures. Carry out risk assessments and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate site documentation, including progress reports, daily site logs, and safety records. Report regularly to the senior management team.
  • Coordination: Work closely with other site managers, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of activities and project progress.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical issues that arise on-site, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure work is carried out to the required standards, on time, and within budget.
  • Client Liaison: Engage with clients to provide updates, answer queries, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a mechanical site management role, ideally within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in pharmaceutical facilities, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and cleanroom systems.
  • Experience managing large-scale mechanical installations and works on complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a strong track record of ensuring site safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
