Process Scientist / Engineer - Ireland, Sligo - 12 Month Contract

Located on the picturesque west coast of Ireland, our global pharmaceutical client is seeking a Process Scientist / Engineer to join their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility. They have invested $55 billion in research to discover and develop new medicines, aiming for scientific breakthroughs and to improve lives. The company employs 50,000 people worldwide and continues to grow.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Leverage detailed understanding of the science behind antibody drug conjugates (ADC).
  • Serve as SME for technology transfers and ongoing manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Research & Development and Drug Product Development teams to develop and transfer robust, fit-for-purpose process control strategies for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Author gap assessments, facility fit studies, process safety, and risk assessments for NPI.
  • Design, onboard, and test single-use assemblies for sterile ADC manufacturing.
  • Act as SME for equipment selection and C&Q activities for new equipment.
  • Document and communicate project status through scientific reports, technical documentation, and presentations to stakeholders.
Desirable experience:
  • Graduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Science, or related discipline with extensive experience (MSc) or strong experience (PhD) in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with at-scale ADC manufacturing, including conjugation and fill-finish operations.
  • Detailed understanding of the chemistry of large molecules and protein conjugation, demonstrated through successful project execution.
  • Desirable: Experience with new product introductions and technology transfers to fill-finish manufacturing facilities.
