Embedded Test Software Engineer (SW Test)

We are working with a world-leading technology company, based in Cork, who are looking to expand their core software engineering group, by hiring an experienced Software Test Engineer who has a broad understanding across embedded software, firmware and an appreciation of hardware.

This is a full-time position, which requires hybrid working. We can offer a competitive salary and relocation support from across the EU, but we are unable to sponsor visas in this instance unless you are already located in Ireland.

This role involves developing and executing test cases for critical technologies such as USB, PMIC, PCIe, Hypervisor, Boot, Clocks, and Storage. You will also design and implement automated test systems to ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle, while contributing to the improvement of overall testing methodologies and best practices.

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in software testing, automation development, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Java, or Python.
  • Experience with System Software and/or low-level Firmware validation.
  • Solid understanding of software quality, ARM architecture, Linux, and RTOS programming.
  • Proven experience in test automation development, source code management, continuous integration, and script programming.
  • Experience with designing and developing multi-process and multi-threaded applications.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
