The Opportunity

My client is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join their rapidly growing Technology Consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work client-side and client-facing, leading security architecture reviews and shaping enterprise security strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead security architecture and design reviews across complex projects.
  2. Define security requirements, implement and test security systems, and develop security standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. Advise on cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  4. Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities while leveraging frameworks such as SABSA and TOGAF.
  5. Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NISD.
  6. Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments, applying methodologies such as STRIDE, Cyber Kill Chain, and exposure analysis.
  7. Stay up to date with evolving security threats and emerging cybersecurity solutions.
  8. Provide technical leadership, mentoring teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple client sites.

Skills & Experience

  1. 7+ years' experience in cybersecurity technical roles, advising on security controls and risk mitigation strategies.
  2. Expertise in cloud security (Azure, AWS, Hybrid Cloud) and network security.
  3. Strong knowledge of security engineering, solution architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  4. Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
  5. Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts effectively.
  6. Hands-on experience with SIEM, WAFs, firewalls, and infrastructure security.
  7. Consultancy experience in the Irish market.
  8. Government, transport, or financial sector experience.
  9. Programming/scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, .NET).
  10. Knowledge of CI/CD security principles and DevSecOps practices.
  11. Experience leading teams and managing large-scale cybersecurity projects.

Qualifications & Certifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
  2. Relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF, AZ-500, AWS Security, or SANS certifications.
