Automation Engineer – Charles River Development, Officer. This role is part of CRD Engineering and involves building out the next generation of software test automation infrastructure as part of the Quality Assurance Infrastructure team. The incumbent will develop, deliver and support the software infrastructure that enables automated product validation and central automated regression runs for all product departments. The position also involves maintaining and expanding testing labs and assisting with staging and certification during ship-stage of a release. Hybrid work model (3 days in office per week) in Krakow or Gdansk, Poland.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the Scrum team (scrum master, product owner, architect, business analysts, product specialists, developers) to carry out software quality responsibilities.
- Create comprehensive test automation scripts from business requirements and functional specifications for features of moderate complexity.
- Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
- Provide testing leadership by identifying opportunities for QA process improvements, and explore new automation approaches, including the use of Artificial Intelligence.
- Adhere to a testing schedule to support efficient and effective product delivery.
- Participate in the agile software development process, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives as part of CRD Scrum methodology.
- Participate in testathon activities as required by releases.
- B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field. MS degree strongly preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in software testing in a process-driven technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience programming with C#, SQL, and shell scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash).
- Experience maintaining automated and manual test script libraries for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle practices and Information Security/Data Governance requirements.
- Ability to interpret automation test results and document defects; proactive communication with developers and team members.
- Financial services industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans.
- Experience implementing automation tests with Silk4Net is strongly preferred.
- Experience implementing and executing automation tests for web, native/desktop applications, APIs, and batch applications.
- Experience using test cases, scripts, and automated test tools for multi-tier applications.
