Dublin, Dublin City, Ireland Meta Full time

Director, Employment Investigations (Int'l)

Dublin, Ireland
• London, UK
• Full Time

Meta is seeking an experienced and motivated employment investigator to lead its Employment Investigations team across EMEA, APAC and LATAM. As Director of Employment Investigations at Meta, you will be responsible for managing a team of expert investigators in addition to conducting prompt, thorough, and fair investigations into complex and sensitive matters at the highest level within the organisation. With a focus on collaboration and innovation, you will work in partnership with Employment Law, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and the business. Although you will primarily conduct investigations in your local region (EMEA), you will be expected to conduct investigations cross-regionally, while leading the team, driving strategic initiatives, optimizing processes and enhancing overall performance in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Success in this role will require working effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries and discerning systemic issues revealed during the investigative process. Our Employment Investigators demonstrate a high degree of empathy balanced against an ability to provide direct feedback and confront witnesses with difficult information. You must be able to articulate findings to the business in the form of oral and/or written summaries and conclusions so that long-term solutions can be developed and applied. As Director of Employment Investigations, EMEA, you will also have the opportunity to protect Meta's culture by delivering compliance education programs and training designed to address workplace issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic leadership and direction to an international team of experienced Employment Investigators managing complex employment-related investigations into complaints involving violations of law or policy.
  2. Conduct end-to-end investigations across Meta office locations within Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
  3. Partner closely with global cross-functional partners within Employment Law, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Security, Internal Audit, etc., to conduct prompt, thorough, and fair investigations.
  4. Prepare reports and present oral and/or written debriefs to appropriate stakeholders on investigation findings.
  5. Have an ability to discern systemic issues and utilise data to help develop long-term solutions.
  6. Provide timely communication to all relevant parties throughout the investigations process, including responding to case escalations.
  7. Remain respectful and empathetic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Strong experience of people management experience including managing remotely across regions (EMEA, APAC, LATAM).
  2. Proven track record of developing and scaling teams.
  3. Significant experience conducting investigations and responding to grievances across multiple regions.
  4. Experience communicating effectively to all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  5. Experience working independently, acting on priorities and exercising proven judgement.
  6. Demonstrate collaborative relationship management skills in a highly cross-functional environment.
  7. Experience drafting investigation reports, and documenting investigation findings and recommendations.
  8. Experience presenting findings and recommendations to leadership.
  9. Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking skills and high degree of comfort working with data.
  10. Flexible and adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor degree in HR/Business, Employee Relations and/or Employment Law.
  2. Experience identifying relevant legal issues.
  3. Project management experience both at a strategic and tactical level.
  4. Experience in conducting facilitation and/or mediations.
  5. Significant experience either in conducting and/or managing investigations or in practising employment law.
  6. Experience investigating matters in legally nuanced regions across EMEA.
