Mechanical Project Engineer

Dublin

Our client is seeking a driven and skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and demonstrated experience in mechanical design, construction oversight, safety compliance, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive design reviews of drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards and project requirements.
  • Ensure that all works are executed according to project specifications and quality assurance plans, maintaining agreed benchmarks.
  • Develop alternative engineering solutions, including detailed calculations and sketches, for client review and approval.
  • Interpret and familiarize with design/issued-for-construction specifications and drawings to fully understand project scope and scheduling priorities. Manage and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project details with clients as needed.
  • Review coordinated construction drawings and prepare technical submittals for client approval.
  • Assess specialist supplier packages for compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and design intent.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to prepare and monitor procurement schedules.
  • Coordinate preliminary inspection plans with the quality assurance team to align with regulatory and project standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Level 7 or 8) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in mechanical engineering projects preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable making decisions under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
