Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Finance Professional to join our team in the Financial Planning and Analysis & Financial Control Functions. The role involves extensive interaction with the senior leadership team and will assist in providing timely and accurate insights that drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Assist with the development of a monthly KPI dashboard and reporting pack utilised in driving management decision-making, including preparation of monthly board pack.
  • Provide management information and business intelligence to drive performance improvement across divisions and help guide strategy discussions.
  • Revenue management (revenue applications, maximizing opportunities, opportunity management, contract variations and modifications and prevention of margin erosion).
  • Cost Management (tenders analysis, effect cost control strategies, manage and monitor project budgets and costs).
  • Analysis to include budget vs. actual variances at a detailed project level.
  • Prepare business plans with multi-year forecasts and appropriate analytics.
  • Contribute to a better focus on margin improvement.
Financial Control:
  • Prepare Work in Progress / Work on Site Calculations with detailed analysis.
  • Development of a Financial Risk Assessment Process with Corrective Action Plans (CAP) implemented where necessary.
  • Manage Working Capital Projections.
  • Process Transformation – lead initiatives to eliminate manual processes and leverage IT resources and AI to automate processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and taxation requirements, including VAT, PAYE, RCT and CIS submissions.
  • Assist in managing relationships with External Auditors, Banks, etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a senior finance role.
  • Finance Experience: At least 3 years in a finance position, preferably with experience in an accounting firm and exposure to the manufacturing industry or similar sectors.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction and engineering contracts.
  • Finance Transformation: Proven experience driving finance transformation initiatives, streamlining processes, and implementing change.
  • Systems Expertise: Experience with Iplicit or similar accounting systems is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong financial analysis, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Organisation & Attention to Detail: Strong planning skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Teamwork & Independence: A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Resilience & Deadline Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Negotiation & Problem-Solving: Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Sustainability Awareness: Understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations within the energy sector.
