Job Description:

Mechanical Fitter (MAMF)

Responsibilities:
  • Machine fault finding, repair, and problem solving
  • Hydraulics and pneumatic maintenance
  • Continuous improvement throughout the plant
  • Welding and fabrication maintenance
  • Repairs of all buildings and equipment
  • Preventive maintenance on building and equipment, including inspecting and replacing bearings, seals, etc.
  • Inspect boilers and treat water with proper chemicals
  • Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems
  • Maintain records of scheduled maintenance and monitor mechanical equipment and utility systems
  • Install new equipment and services during projects; replace and repair existing equipment as needed
  • Read and follow blueprints and assembly instructions
  • Follow occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
Work Schedule:

The contract is based on a flexible shift rotation basis.

Person Profile:

Good communication skills and teamwork are essential.

Educational/Training Requirements:
  • Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship qualifications (MAMF) Fetac 6 – Necessary (Machine shop experience) or Technician in Automation and Control
  • CMM, Computerized Maintenance Systems (SAP) is an advantage
