Enterprise Operations Engineer II

Overview

This role is for a Cloud Operations Engineer (SRE role) responsible for managing Mastercard's Cloud Platforms and providing operational support for multiple customer applications and products on these platforms.

Role:

The Level 1 Cloud Operations Engineer has the following major objectives:

  • Maintaining continuous availability
  • Monitoring various services and components of the cloud
  • Providing operational support for platform and workloads/products hosted on the platform
  • Continuous infrastructure monitoring
  • Alert management
  • Basic troubleshooting and incident response (TRTs, communications)
  • Service health checks
  • Escalation and communication
  • Log monitoring and analysis
  • Service desk and incident ticketing
  • SLA and KPI adherence
  • Knowledge management

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting application teams deployed on Cloud Platforms
  • Troubleshooting day-to-day issues on the cloud
  • Ensuring the safety and soundness of the platform
  • Service management, process documentation, and knowledge documentation
  • Collaborating with engineering teams for defect fixes, new features, and operationalization
  • Responding to issues promptly to minimize customer impact
  • Assisting in maturity efforts to create stable and effective application environments
  • Working with support teams to create a 24x7 resolution mechanism
  • Improving documentation, processes, governance, and customer onboarding
  • Enhancing monitoring efforts for application suites
  • Continuing process improvements for application stability and effectiveness

All About You

  • High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure independently
  • Experience in large-scale operations
  • Strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills, with innovative thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong relationship and organizational skills
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Basic understanding of DevOps processes and cloud security
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education
