Optical Assistant

NEC Software Solutions is hiring for a 12 month fixed term contract in Dublin and surrounding counties. This role is within our Retinal Technicians team for Dublin City, Co Dublin and surrounding counties. The role involves Eye Photography to identify damage to the retina that can be caused by complications of Diabetes. Experience is not essential, making this a good opportunity for someone looking to enter healthcare or develop skills in the healthcare space. The role involves travelling to and from health centres and clinic locations using a company vehicle.

The role involves Eye Photography to identify retina damage related to diabetes. You will be part of the national programme, working with Senior Diabetic Retinal Technicians and Team Leader, supported by the administration team, programme manager and clinical lead. You'll be expected to perform duties in line with the programme's standards and within your training period.

• Experience is not required
• Clean Irish driving license and own car is essential
• A passion for customer care and positive patient outcomes
• Being IT literate is a must – word processing, spreadsheets and regular use of Microsoft Office
• Initiative and the ability to prioritise tasks, as well as using problem-solving skills
• A great work ethic and a proactive approach are essential, as you'll be largely unsupervised after the initial training period
• Excellent communication skills at all levels

• Candidates must demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU. Documentary evidence will be required.
• A full, clean Irish driving licence is essential.
• All offers are subject to satisfactory vetting and reference checks. Depending on the nature of the role, Garda Vetting may also be required.
